AFM Core Beliefs
We believe that we are spiritual warriors for God in the great controversy between Christ and Satan. The weapons of our warfare include the Word of God, prayer, praise, fasting, and singing. We claim the promises of God, we worship Him, confess our need, accept the sacrifice of Jesus, receive forgiveness, seek His direction, request His help, and call upon the Holy Spirit to empower our ministries and our lives. God provides for all our needs. God entrusts us with His resources. We demand of ourselves high standards of professional competence, financial accountability, and diligence. (Ephesians 6:11-19; Exodus 14:13-14; 1 Samuel 17:47; 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5; 1 Corinthians 15:57; Zechariah 4:6; Philippians 4:19.)
We believe that the Holy Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) is the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through the Holy Spirit. The Bible reveals God’s plan of salvation and is the only standard given by God in matters of faith, doctrine, and practice. We also treasure the light given through the gift of prophecy and apply this counsel to our lives and ministry. (2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Psalm 119:105; Revelation 12:17, 19:10.)
We believe that there is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We recognize Jesus Christ as our Creator, the only Savior of humanity, and look forward to His triumphant soon return. We proclaim the truths taught by the SDA Church. This requires faith, personal sacrifice, Christian stewardship, simplicity of life, and trust in God. We believe that God accomplishes extraordinary things through ordinary people who surrender fully to Him. We value each person and their God-given abilities for service. We respect the dignity of every person, including the unreached, the AFM team of workers, their families, and our supporters. (Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 14; John 3:16-17; Philippians 2:1-11; 1 John 3:16; Colossians 3:12-14.)
We believe that the ultimate human need is to know and love God. By His grace and mercy, we experience knowledge of Him. As a loving response to this experience, we seek to reach the unreached with the offer of eternal salvation in Christ. In obedience to the Gospel Commission, we share Christ across ethnic and language barriers with people groups that have not had the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. (John 17:3; John 14:27; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Revelation 7:9, 10; Romans 15:20, 21.)
We believe that people should not have to traverse unnecessary cultural barriers to come to Christ. As such, we value the God-given diversity in human personality, culture, and contribution. However, the need for spiritual transformation is common to humankind, and therefore all cultural beliefs and practices are subject to biblical principles. We present biblical truth using methods that are reproducible by the people being served, allowing the church to continue vibrant, healthy growth. We depend on God for the grace and tenacity to lift Jesus high among the unreached.
We depend on God for tenacious and grace-filled obedience to the Great Commission as we reach the unreached for Jesus Christ. The love of Christ compels us to a ministry of reconciliation. We lift Jesus high so that all peoples may be drawn to Him in repentance and faith. We demonstrate commitment by:
- Depending daily on God for our calling, provision, leading, and protection.
- Being unwavering in our fidelity to the Word of God as the infallible rule of faith.
- Pursuing the “impossible” task of establishing disciple-making church-planting movements.

We value colleagues and treat them as Jesus has first treated us.
We value and love colleagues in ministry as Christ has first loved us, ministering to one another in grace and truth as Christ ministers to us. We recognize the inestimable value of one soul in the eyes of our Heavenly Father, so we bear one another’s burdens in prayer and in practice. We practice redemptive love to restore those who fall, always for the abundance of life Jesus brings among all with whom we serve and minister. We demonstrate caring in community by:
- Doing the hard work of building high-functioning teams.
- Exercising humility through learning conversations.
- Fostering a culture of openness by communicating pertinent information to everyone within AFM.

We work together with the Adventist Church, donors and each other to reach the unreached.
Our default posture is to be a blessing wherever and to whomever we serve, enabling us to nurture a spirit of mutual cooperation, love and submission in every new believer’s heart. As SDA Christians, we work in harmonious cooperation with the SDA Church, its leadership and other SDA supporting ministries to advance the kingdom of God by:
- Choosing to nurture intentional, positive, and productive relations with the SDA Church leadership.
- Cooperating with and empowering indigenous members and leaders to achieve enduring results.
- Engaging intentionally in long-term, transparent donor ministry that both honors and brings inner joy to our donors and prayer partners.

We offer sacrificial service and manifest holy boldness for God.
We offer sacrificial service and manifest holy boldness for God as we answer His call to reach the unreached. We are courageous in ministry in the hardest soils on earth because God’s character is good, His mission is compelling, and His provision and promises are absolutely reliable. We demonstrate such courage by:
- Echoing God’s supreme desire for every individual’s salvation, we follow wherever the Holy Spirit leads.
- Placing the salvation of God’s children beyond considerations of our own physical safety, social acceptance, personal convenience, geographical proximity, religious opposition or methodological orthodoxy.
- Championing the spiritual and temporal needs of the unreached.

Adventist Frontier Missions Europe is incorporated as a non-profit in Romania, with its own Board of Directors and governance framework. Although legally separate, AFM is a member of Adventist-laymen’s Services & Industries Europe (ASI Europe), and works as a supporting ministry in close cooperation with the worldwide SDA Church in countries all around the world.
As an independent ministry, AFM supports the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist® Church; however, it is not part of, affiliated with, or supported by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists®, or any affiliates known as the Seventh-day Adventist® Church. Thus, any content or opinions expressed, implied or included in or with the services offered by Adventist Frontier Missions, Inc. are solely those of Adventist Frontier Missions, Inc. and not those of the Seventh-day Adventist® Church.
