Hanna Falk – Short Term Missionary to Palawan
My name is Hanna. I grew up as a missionary kid in Uganda, and I have always had it in the back of my mind that I wanted to be a missionary.
When I grew older, I didn’t know what career path to take, but I visited some missionaries in Chad and got to see medical missionary work. I fell in love with it and missionary medical work really appealed to me. I therefore became a nurse.
Through the years of education and work I felt that I became a sleepy Christian, lukewarm, not living up to the purpose God has given to us which is sharing the gospel. It was not enough to help people heal physically as a nurse, while I couldn’t help them heal spiritually, saving their souls for eternity. So I quit my job and went to a mission school. This changed my life.
I feel I have a strong purpose in life to share God’s love. Being sent by God to serve in the Philippines is a privilege. Much prayer is needed to strengthen me on this path and to give me wisdom on how best to serve and treat the Palawano people in the remote jungle, and to share Christ in a place where the spiritual battle is very real.
